Parallel Vienna is a unified platform for renowned and young artists and exhibition spaces, galleries, and curators. In 2016, the parallel was held in Vienna for the fourth time. The parallel is organized by a group of curators and the Austrian Federal Chancellery. Among the 15 international curators invited this year was VAADS Dean Irina Popiashvili, who, along with renowned Georgian artists Guram Tsibakhashvili and Giorgi Okropiridze, presented works by Wads students.

In the frame of the event, VAADS students were given the opportunity to present their work for the first time with 400 international artists, 20 galleries, and 40 solo projects.

The Free University School of Visual Arts and Design left for Vienna with the co-financing of the Kakha Bendukidze Knowledge Foundation.
